I'm a tech entrepreneur with over 10 years of experience in business and product strategy. My career in tech began after pivoting from working in public policy in D.C. I was part of the founding team at baby wearable and early childhood development company Smilables. I am also a co-host of the Webby-nominated Product Management podcast 'Product Talk'.
I am a first-generation immigrant and third-culture kid who grew up in four different countries. I moved from India to the U.S. to attend Mount Holyoke College. Later, I received an MBA from the George Washington University School of Business that I attended while working full-time. These opportunities would not have been possible without receiving academic scholarships and the support of my parents, and family/friends who opened their homes and hearts for me during school breaks (because it was too expensive and too far for me to fly home to India). I have first-hand been the beneficiary of my own Kutumb Village.
Throughout my career, I have seen how technology can be a creative and powerful driving force for change. That's why I am passionate about creating and building products that improve everyday experiences and can scale their impact. In addition to my work in the tech industry, I also worked in public policy advocacy in Washington D.C for six years. Representing the technology industry, I pushed for informed federal regulatory policy on topics including cybersecurity, nation-wide broadband access for first responders, and smart grids for energy sustainability. I appreciate the importance of partnership-driven initiatives to bring people from different points of view together . When I was in business school, I also interned at social entrepreneurship focused organizations such as Ashoka Changemakers and Vital Voices. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to creating positive change and building products that can make a difference in people's lives.
When not at the computer, I enjoy running long-distance and participating in voter activation activities in my community. I am also the proud author of a bilingual Hindi-English children's book series "Meet Buckley," available at most online bookstores.
As an extroverted connector, I love bringing people together. I believe that no person is an island, and my greatest joy comes from bringing people and ideas together.
